18-week csar returns to front line

11th April 2007

Duncan Selbie, the director general for commissioning who led the introduction of the 18-week maximum wait target, is to take up a Chief Executive post on secondment at an unnamed acute trust sometime in the summer.

As the 18-week target is not due for delivery until the end of next year, his departure from the DoH means that he will leave before the target is due to be hit. His replacement is yet to be announced.
