A lesson in taking care of your bones

29th June 2009

The Osteoporosis Society have launched a website to encourage children to look after their bones and prevent the condition.

The Bones4life site was developed after a survey of 2,615 children in the UK showed that half did not know how they could keep their bones healthy. Lesley Millard, education officer for the National Osteoporosis Society, said: "The majority were unaware that exercise can help reduce the risk of osteoporosis, and one in three did not know about the positive role diet can play."
