Abortions in GP surgeries have doubled

5th April 2011

The amount of abortions performed in GP surgeries has gone up by more than 200%, according to the British Pregnancy Advisory Service.

The British Pregnancy Advisory Service told Pulse that 900 early medical abortions had been carried out in the clinics in GP surgeries over the past year. This number has more than doubled since September last year when Pulse said 400 abortions had been performed from August 2008-July 2009. The abortions were carried out in GP surgeries in Wolverhampton, Basingstoke and Newcastle.
