25th January 2010

Data compiled by The Grocer magazine has shown that supermarkets have decreased alcohol promotions.

Supermarkets deals on alcohol in January made up 22% of all promotions, compared to 26% in 2009. The reduction was most pronounced at Asda, where alcohol promotions were reduced from 27% to 13%. Promotions for fresh produce in all supermarkets increased from 11.5% in last year to 14% in 2010.
