Another NHS London board member resigns

27th May 2010

A second member of NHS London’s board has resigned after new health secretary Andrew Lansley called for the strategic health authority to “halt” its reconfiguration programme.

The resignation of non-executive director Gerry Acher follows that of the SHA’s chair Sir Richard Sykes who had warned in his resignation letter to Mr Lansley that other members of the board of NHS London were also considering their positions. HSJ has said that it understands a further five of the six non-executive board members are also likely to resign.
