Appointment problems at North Bristol

Clinicians at North Bristol NHS Trust have expressed concern following the go-live of a new Cerner Millennium electronic patient record system.

The clinicians are worried about disruption to patient care, which they say is caused by appointment problems. Reported problems include patients being booked into non-existent clinic appointments.

Martin Bell, director of IM&T at the trust, confirmed some “unexpected problems” had been experienced in the past few weeks with some of the outpatient appointments and theatre lists.
