Assessments increased for trusts

The DoH and Monitor, the independent regulator for NHS foundation trusts, say they will now be able to consider more applicants.

Monitor will increase its assessment capacity from 50 to 80 following changes to its assessment process. 

Stephen Hay, Monitor's Chief Operating Officer said: ?This announcement will have a significant impact on the pipeline of applicant trusts hoping to achieve NHS foundation trust status as we can now look at 30 more applications each year."
