Atos wins extension to Choose and Book contract

12th February 2009

Atos Healthcare has won a two-year extension of its contract to manage Choose and Book.

The company has been responsible for designing, developing and managing the Choose and Book service together with healthcare IT supplier Cerner Corporation. The two-year extension continues the initial five-year contract the company signed in 2003.

Atos says it will work with the Department of Health, NHS Connecting for Health and the NHS to ensure that administrative staff, healthcare professionals and patients can easily use the system and that it "meets their needs and improves the way care is delivered".
