Be Clear on Cancer campaigns to be piloted

The Department of is launching a pilot campaign in January to help improve public awareness of cancer symptoms.

The Be Clear on Cancer campaign aims to encourage people with symptoms to see their GP earlier and will use TV, radio, public events, press and poster advertising. Cancer networks are supporting the campaigns by working with primary and secondary care providers, as well as running additional community engagement activities. The government wants to improve cancer survival in this country with a target of saving an additional 5,000 lives every year by 2014/15.
