Beach tests for STDs

7th August 2009

A facility has been set up in Bournemouth to test teenagers for the sexually transmitted disease chlamydia while visiting the beach on Friday nights.

It is part of the R U Sure Ur Really Ready campaign by youth workers - which also aims to cut teenage pregnancies – and is designed to stop 13 to 19-year-olds from having sex too young. The youth club bus on the seafront will also hand out keyring condom holders. There are 120,000 were cases of chlamydia diagnosed last year in the UK.
