Bedsores killing Scottish patients

Liberal Democrat health spokesman Ross Finnie has said bedsores played a part in the deaths of over 500 patients in Scotland over the past five years.

Bedsores were the direct cause of death for 78 patients are were implicated in the deaths of 488 more.  Mr Finnie said; He said: "The public will be shocked Scots are still dying from bedsores in the 21st century. They cause huge amounts of pain and discomfort but are easily preventable. The government must treat bedsores as seriously as hospital infections."
