Better bowel cancer care needed

30th October 2009

The review of 41,000 cases from 2006 to 2008 showed that slightly more than 50% of patients received support from specialist nurses despite NHS recommendations that all cancer patients should get it and 25% of patients were not getting access to specialist scans to check the progress of their disease. However, figures also showed that post-surgery death rates were improving.
