Better information use competition

8th July 2008

The Cabinet Office's Power of Information Taskforce is launching a competition in order to provoke people to come forward with new and better ways of using government data.

The reward is a prize of £20,000 to develop the idea. The taskforce said: “The government produces masses of information on what is happening around the UK; information on crime, on health, on education. However, this information is often hidden away in obscure publications or odd corners of websites. We want ideas on how to change this.”
