Biomedical campus plan

15th November 2007

A major biomedical campus is to be built on the outskirts of Cambridge.

The Cambridge Biomedical Campus will be built on 70 acres of land close to Addenbrooke’s Hospital and will include some 2.3 million square feet of new biomedical research and development space and further clinical development to accommodate the expansion of the existing hospital.

The proposals also include a new learning centre, conference and hotel facilities, as well as additional retail accommodation serving the site. Papworth Hospital has also announced its intention to relocate to the site.
