Biomedical engineering gets £30m

30th August 2012

The drive to find biomedical engineering solutions to challenging healthcare problems has received a £30m boost.

The Wellcome Trust and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) have announced a joint £30 million initiative, which they hope will see applications for projects that will tackle high priority healthcare or public health problems. Priority will be given to bids that address such problems as developing technologies to tackle rare diseases, facilitating care for babies and infants and finding engineering approaches for mental health problems.
