Birmingham hospital takeover

Pending approval by the secretary of state the Heart of England foundation trust is set to acquire Good Hope Hospital in Birmingham, which is £15m in debt.

‘The proposed merger is an excellent opportunity for patients at one of our most challenged hospitals to benefit from the expertise of one of the best foundation trusts in the country.’ said Cynthia Bower, West Midlands SHA chief executive.
