BMA to promote GPs

7th April 2008

The British Medical Association is planning to release a new campaign to challenge the negative portrayal of GPs by the British press.

The BMA campaign is due to start in a few weeks time and will concentrate on GPs to begin with. Dr Prit Buttar, chairman of the GPC communications group said: "We did lose the battle over enhanced services and it would be understandable if [some doctors] were angry. But our successes over pensions don't make such good headlines."
