Bowel cancer patients help recruit nurses

25th October 2010

Two members of the Gastro-Intestinal Cancer Support Group have aided in the recruitment of two specialist nurses at Colchester General Hospital.

The two former bowel cancer patients sat in on the interview process, made suggestions about interview questions and had a vote in who was hired. Nurse consultant Anna Wordley said: "We found the observations Janet and Bryan made during the interviews most helpful when making our decisions about the successful candidates."
