Breast cancer biggest fear

23rd October 2007

A survey has found that British women still fear breast cancer more than any other disease.

The study conducted on behalf of Breast Cancer Campaign found that 42% of women of all ages claimed to be most afraid of getting the disease with 40% having a fear of developing dementia and 28% worried about lung cancer. Despite the concerns, 85% of women recognised that major progress has been made in breast cancer research over the last decade with 88% aware that survival rates have improved.
