Bristol quadruplets born on leap day

5th March 2012

A Bristol woman has given birth to quadruplets, who were all born 11 weeks early on leap year day.

Emma Robbins gave birth to four boys – Zachary, Rueben, Joshua and Samuel - by Caesarean section within six minutes of each other on Wednesday, 29 February, at St Michael's maternity hospital. All are said to be doing well and the smallest baby weighed 2lb 8oz (1.1kg), while the heaviest weighed 3lb 1oz (1.4kg). They were conceived naturally, and two of the babies are identical twins.
