BUPA chief joins Virgin Healthcare

24th March 2010

Former BUPA hospitals chief Clare Hollingsworth has joined the Virgin Healthcare board.

Her move is seen as helping to drive Virgin’s bid to take on services from secondary care at its network of Darzi centres recently acquired from Assura. Ms Hollingsworth, non-executive director and deputy chair of Assura, has replaced Richard Burrell, Assura chief executive officer on the Virgin board, after he announced his resignation from Assura. Virgin became the leading private provider of Darzi centres after its acquisition of Assura Medical Ltd earlier this month.
