Call for acne drug investigation

28th February 2013

Calls for an investigation into the effects of the acne drug Dianette have been made by the parents of a teenager who died while taking the medication.

Charlotte Porter, 17, from Maidstone in Kent - who was taking Dianette, also known as Diane-35 - died from deep-vein thrombosis in 2010. The drug has been suspended from sale in France after being linked to the deaths of four women, though UK regulators say they have no new concerns. However, Charlotte’s parents Beverly and Trevor Porter want to see an investigation carried out.
