Call for limit on Viagra

8th December 2011

A new recommendation from NHS managers has suggested that Viagra prescriptions should be limited to two pills a month.

Under new guidelines from The South Central Priorities Committee – which covers health trusts in Milton Keynes, Oxfordshire, Berkshire East, Berkshire West and Buckinghamshire - GPs are being urged to limit prescriptions of erectile dysfunction drugs. The guidance also advises against counselling for sexual problems in a move which takes into account clinical and cost-effectiveness issues during the current financial situation facing the health economy.
