Cambridge Laboratories bought by Alliance

9th February 2010

Drug firm Alliance Pharma has announced that it plans to purchase the majority of Cambridge Laboratories.

The deal is estimated to be worth between £14-16 million. John Dawson, chief executive of Alliance Pharma, said: "It’s a business that matches us very well. They’ve got a bedrock of products which are quite self sustaining just like we have. They’ve got an oncology unit that provides some growth through marketing activities so it’s a very good match, and it gives us quite a boost in scale. It’s the biggest acquisition we’ve done yet. It’s our 18th in 12 years."
