'Cancer blunders' to be reviewed at trust

22nd June 2009

University Hospitals Bristol Trust has said it is to review 3,500 cases of cancer tests carried out at the University Hospitals Bristol.

Allegations have been made that a patient developed terminal breast cancer after being informed she did not have cancer and other patients were told they were terminally ill when they were not. Doctors at the North Bristol Trust first said they were concerned about how accurate test results were in 2007.
