Cancer surgery move protest

27th March 2008

Protests have been held against Cornwall Primary Care Trust which wants to move some specialist cancer treatment services out of the county.

The PCT proposal to move upper gastro-intestinal surgery from the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro to Plymouth sparked demonstrations from campaigners at County Hall in Truro who said they were concerned how the plans would affect patients and families. The PCT has now said it is to delay implementing the plans to allow more time to discuss the proposals with the public.
