Capita appoints Managing Director of healthcare business

The Capita Group Plc (Capita) announces that it has appointed Beverley Bryant as Managing Director of its rapidly growing healthcare business with effect from 1 July 2010.
Beverley brings a wealth of experience and industry knowledge to Capita having held senior positions across healthcare, central government and IT sectors. As a former Chief Information Officer at the Department of Health, she successfully led the creation of the NHS Choices information service.  She has also held senior positions in both Acute Trusts and Primary Care Trusts including Director of Performance, Improvement and Delivery at NHS Leeds and as Director of Business Development at Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Previously Beverley specialised in IT consulting at Andersen Consulting and KPMG where she managed IT-enabled change management programmes in the public sector. Beverley has also been a member of the national board of Directgov, the government’s website for citizens.
Capita employs more than 600 people across its health operation and provides services to some 300 NHS organisations. Working with both the NHS and the Department of Health, Capita is helping to improve the efficiency and the effectiveness of healthcare by providing back office, informatics, governance, research, patient information and customer contact services.
Andy Parker, Divisional Director responsible for Capita’s health operation, commented; “Capita has already demonstrated that its business process outsourcing and professional services capabilities can add significant value in the health sector, and with Beverley’s appointment we look forward to our pace of growth in this sector continuing.”
Beverley commented; “The health sector is entering a period of financial hardship at a time when public expectations of quality and performance are at their highest and rising. I am excited about the opportunity to work with Department of Health and NHS colleagues to help find solutions to address this dilemma through Capita’s outsourcing expertise and capability.”
