Celebration of heart swap woman

The UK’s first baby heart transplant survivor is celebrating the 20th anniversary of her operation.

Twenty-year-old Kaylee Davidson was only five months old when she had the operation at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, which was performed by surgeon Christopher McGregor, who now works in America. Since the ground-breaking operation in 1987, the Freeman Hospital has become a world leader in transplant techniques.

Miss Davidson works for Marks and Spencer and recently represented the UK in the World Transplant Games in Thailand.
