Cereal bars found to be high in sugar

20th August 2012

Consumer group Which? has said that the image of cereal bars as a healthy snack is a “myth.”

It found that all but one of the 30 bars it analysed were high in sugar, with more than half containing over 30% sugar while other snacks had high fat and saturated fat content. Which? said that the Nutri-Grain Elevenses bar contained nearly four teaspoons of sugar which is more than in a small can of cola and 20% of the recommended daily allowance.
