Cerner delayed until 2010 at Wirral

4th December 2009

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has decided to delay its implementation of Cerner Millennium until 2010.

The trust had been due to go live with the system at the end of November, with phase two scheduled to follow 12 months later. Wirral says the delay is a prudent move due to the large amount of change underway at the organisation and the imminent appointment of a new Director of Information, though it also said work on the system was "progressing well".
