Cerner green light for London

11th February 2009

The go ahead for further Cerner deployments in London have been given by NHS London and the NHS London Programme for IT (LPfIT), despite delays in a programme of work to remedy known problems.

Implementations of Cerner's software were shelved in October and an emergency ‘recovery plan’ instituted by LPfIT, BT and Cerner after serious problems with the Millennium software came to light at Barts and the London and Royal Free. The Cerner implementation at The Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust has also run into well-publicised problems.
