Charges over elderly abuse claims
17th September 2012Three people will appear before Thames Magistrates’ Court on October 31accused of abusing elderly patients at Whipps Cross Hospital in east London.
Sharmilla Gunda, 35, of Horns Road, Ilford, Annette Jackson, 32, of Simpson Road, Hounslow and Akousa Sakyiwaa , 37, of Orange Grove, Leytonstone, have been charged with ill-treatment or neglect. The allegations first emerged between mid-February and mid-April.
In addition Gunda also faces one charge of ill-treatment or neglect and one count of fraud; Jackson faces four counts of ill-treatment or neglect; and Sakyiwaa faces seven counts of ill-treatment or neglect and a charge of common assault.
