Chelsea and Westiminster out to tender for EPR

10th October 2012

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has unveiled plans to replace much of its LastWord electronic patient record functionality.

The trust implemented LastWord from IDX Systems Corporation before the national programme for IT in the NHS was launched but has revealed it will now go out to tender for a new portal early next year. The IDX system was later dropped elsewhere in London in favour of Cerner Millennium though Chelsea and Westminster maintain that despite being old, the IDX EPR "exceeds other products in the market place".
