Chief exec of Mid Staffs resigns

19th May 2009

The chief executive of Mid Staffordshire foundation trust Martin Yeates has resigned.

The move comes two months after the Healthcare Commission published its damning report into the hospital. The trust has already begun advertising for a full time replacement for Mr Yeates who stepped down from his post at the beginning of March. Chesterfield Royal Hospital foundation trust chief executive Eric Morton was appointed interim chief executive at Staffordshire by Monitor after Mr Yeates said that he was stepping down.
