Children's records stolen

6th March 2008

A primary care trust has apologised to parents after a laptop containing personal details of more than 200 children was stolen from a medical centre in Shropshire.

A thief walked into the Madeley Health Centre and stole the computer which had been left in a room by a language therapist who was running a clinic.

Telford and Wrekin Primary Care Trust said the laptop has been disconnected from the NHS network but a memory stick with the names, addresses and dates of birth of 238 children in the Telford and Wrekin area is still missing.
