Choose and Book blocks choice

28th January 2009

A report from the British Medical Association claims that the Choose and Book referral system is unreliable, slow and frustrating for doctors.

The study said that while the system was at times beneficial in giving patients control of appointments and enabling administrators to track referrals, consistent system crashes and the slowness of the software were restricting its potential. The BMA also said that some GPs found that ongoing difficulties in using the system were leading them to regard it as “not worth using.”
