Choose and Book library pilot

18th April 2008

The government is looking to boost its newly extended Choice agenda by making computers at thousands of libraries available to patients to use the Choose and Book facility to decide which hospital they want to be treated in.

The move follows a successful trial last year with an independent evaluation expected to be published soon by Loughborough University. It also comes as a White Paper suggests that community pharmacists could be given access to Choose and Book as they begin to offer more clinical services.
