Clinical trial concern
28th November 2012The latest Access to Medicine Index report has said that few drug companies have robust measures to ensure outsourced clinical trials in developing countries are safe and ethical.
The document reported that most companies were unable to provide any evidence of exerting real influence over the way the trials were conducted by contractors, though it did praise drug manufacturers for making more effort to provide affordable medicines. Published every two years and ranking the world’s 20 biggest drug companies, it showed GlaxoSmithKline remaining at the top of the index, followed by Johnson & Johnson and Sanofi.
