Complaints over baby stroke treatment

5th August 2008

The mother of a baby who had a stroke following heart surgery at Alder Hey hospital has criticised the treatment and support she received.

Eileen Pritchard said she was not given any data regarding strokes and were not provided with counselling. North East Wales NHS Trust said: "We have also agreed with the family that we will undertake a review of the care...and ensure that the health service learns from any areas where we feel that the level of service fell short of that which we would usually expect to provide."
