Conficker worm infects another trust

24th February 2010

The Conficker worm has forced West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust to shut down its entire IT network.

The latest NHS trust to be infected by the Conficker worm, it was hit on February 11 and has to isolate the virus and clean the system. The trust managed to get a number of computers working in key areas such as A&E, ITU, theatres and outpatient departments within a few days but it has had to resort to using manual systems in other areas.
