Continual Improvements10th August 2006
In the last week or so, we sailed through our initial target of getting 1,000 registered users onto the website and we're now chasing 2,000 where, so received wisdom tells us, a web community can really begin to take off.
The increase in registrations is in no small way linked to the launch of our weekly email news summary which - as the name implies - pops a summary of NHS, UK and World healthcare news - in glorious technicolour - into your inbox each week.
The news summary has proved to be very popular and we are looking at expanding the range of news summaries available to cover specific topics such as complimentary medicine and the rise of the independent sector in UK healthcare. Any other ideas are welcome; our news content is stored in a sophisticated database which allows us to pull it out in a variety of ways.
One problem with the news summary is that users had to log in to read the articles - and we all know how difficult it is to remember all those user ids and passwords. So starting from next week, all you will need to do is click on the link of any article in the news summary and it will take you straight onto the site, automatically logging you on in the process.
