Curry could cure tennis elbow

10th August 2011

Scientists in the UK and Germany have carried out experiments which they say show that curry could be used to treat tendinitis.

The researchers said curcumin could be used to "switch off" cells which cause inflammation in joints. Dr Ali Mobasheri of the University‚Äôs School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, said: "Our research is not suggesting that curry, turmeric or curcumin are cures for inflammatory conditions such as tendinitis and arthritis. However, we believe that it could offer scientists an important new lead in the treatment of these painful conditions through nutrition."
