10th October 2012

A major event to showcase the UK’s research facilities and discuss how to drive forward international research on dementia has been held by the government as part of Prime Minister David Cameron’s Challenge on Dementia.

It featured representatives from more than 150 of the sector’s top researchers, foundations, charities and biotech companies, including the Wellcome Trust, Medical Research Council, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Lilly, Janssen, GE and AstraZeneca.

The event focused on the challenges of dementia research, the barriers faced by the industry and how the UK can respond.
