Department of Health statement: Re-appointment of a Non-Executive Director for Monitor, the independent regulator of NHS foundation trusts8th April 2011
Christopher Mellor has been re-appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Monitor, Health Secretary Andrew Lansley announced today. Mr Mellor has been appointed for a third term from 10 May 2011 to 31 March 2012.
Andrew Lansley said:
"I am delighted to announce that I have re-appointed Christopher Mellor to be a Non-Executive Director of Monitor.
“Mr Mellor offers a wealth of experience to Monitor’s board.”
Mr Christopher Mellor said:
"I am delighted to be re-appointed to Monitor's Board. I believe my seven years’ experience on the Monitor Board provides stability as Monitor looks to focus increasingly on economic regulation for the NHS."
In line with the Code of Practice set out by the Commissioner for Public Appoinments, the Department of Health received the agreement of the Commissioner prior to making this appointment.
