DH data shows spine costs soaring

15th September 2008

The government has said that the cost of the health service's spine contract has gone up by over 60%.

The contract has been revalued at £1 billion, up from £620 million in 1993. Mr Bradshaw said the increase was "due to changes or additional requirements that have been negotiated as part of the rest agreement and these have been approved through normal governance arrangements."
