Diabetes move up EU agenda

MEPs have called for national plans and a strategy for all member states to tackle diabetes, which affects more than 25 million people in Europe.

They have launched a campaign to make control of the disease a top priority in the European Union's public health programme. The campaign is being supported by the Federation of European Nurses in Diabetes and the International Diabetes Federation.
