Doctor offers money for head lice

16th December 2008

A doctor from Bristol University is offering people £1 per louse in order to carry out a study on head lice shampoo.

Dr Gerald Coles has said he needs 300 lice for the tests and wants parents to give their children's head lice to him. He said: "We want to make it worthwhile for people to let us have head lice. We also give them a bottle of shampoo based on a coconut oil which is very effective at controlling head lice."
