Dog bite woman dies

A woman who was bitten by a rabid dog while on holiday in South Asia and was being treated for rabies at a London hospital has died.

The unidentified woman was treated at the Hospital for Tropical Diseases after going twice to A&E at the Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford. University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: "We regret to announce that a patient being treated for rabies by the Hospital for Tropical Diseases and colleagues at University College Hospital died over the weekend."
