E-cards for patients

16th September 2008

Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has put in place a new, free e-card system which allows patients to receive messages from well-wishers.

Kerry Coates, a PALS casework support officer, said: “It’s brilliant for people who are unable to visit their friend or relative every day and even better for patients. Receiving a card with a personal message from a loved one can really lift their spirits, and in some cases, aid recovery. In the short time we’ve been running the service it has already made a difference.”
