E coli outbreak at pre-school

23rd November 2007

An investigation was launched on 22 November into the source of an outbreak of E.coli, which infected three young children from a pre-school.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the children were infected by the bug - which can be fatal and cause severe kidney and blood infections - at the Busy Bees pre-school in Kingsclere village in Hampshire. The parents of the 70 children who attend the school were immediately told and it was closed.
